Endorsement from Warren Brown
Dennis & John,
Just wanted to thank you again for the blessing you were to me, both a blessing in getting my Instrument Rating, but more importantly, a spiritual blessing. On my trip back home from Alexandria I had to make a stop in Greenville, SC before returning to North Carolina. The last half of the trip from AXN to GMU was IMC and I experienced clouds, rain, snow, and icing. At GMU I popped out of the clouds about 300 feet above the ILS minimums and then on the approach to home (HBI) I popped out at about 100 feet above minimums. Because of the excellent training I had received from you folks I had the confidence to fly in this weather. For anyone considering On His Wings Flight Academy, I would like to say to you that you will not be disappointed! The training is second to none. Dennis and John are down-to-earth people and you only have to be with them a few minutes to realize their goal is to enrich people's lives in every aspect. John was my instructor and even though he is a young man, he is more mature than many people that are well his senior. John not only has the knowledge to instruct, he also has the ability to discern the best way to communicate that knowledge to a student. Dennis has a wealth of knowledge that just amazed me. I have heard stories of flight academies that have instructors that are just building seat time and the emphasis seems to be to teach the student the minimums necessary to pass the check ride and then move them on so they can start on the next student. I promise you this is not the case at On His Wings Flight Academy. It was apparent to me from day one that On His Wings' goal was to teach me everything I needed to know to not only pass the check ride, but also to fly safely and confidently, no matter how long it took. For me, more important than the piloting skills I gained while there, was the spiritual atmosphere I found. Dennis, John and I spent time together inside and outside the classroom reading the Bible, praying together and meeting with other Christians in Bible study and prayer. I was truly amazed with the amount of Christians I encountered while at Alexandria, people whose lives are dedicated to serving the Lord, not just " I'm a Christian because that is a popular declaration now a days" people. The Bible says when we encounter fellow believers "Our spirit beareth witness one with another" and that happened to me time after time while in Alexandria. I left On His Wings Flight Academy with the belief that that Dennis and John teach at the Academy to make a living. They live their lives to help others get to Heaven. There is no higher goal!
Sincerely,
Warren Brown

John Langston
My name is John Langston and I was just able to complete the instrument rating with On His Wings Academy. The program here is excellent and was exactly what I needed to get the instrument rating. Truth is I wouldn't of done it any other way. I had looked at several different programs and considered many different approaches to the instrument rating before coming here. I am so glad that it worked out for me to come here. Please let me tell you why.

On the flying side of things; the time in the simulator (training device) was worth it all for me. I was able to get as much flight time in the simulator as I needed to learn the approaches to the runway.  If I was having problems with certain maneuvers we could just "freeze" the simulator and evaluate how to do it better the next time. Or we could just back it up and try it again. (Try doing that in an airplane). Your flight path is also "graphed out" on paper so you can look at how you are doing from another perspective. That also helped me tremendously. The time in the simulator has saved me both time and money. Time that I would have spent in an airplane not quite getting the procedures right. And money that I would have otherwise spent on aircraft rental fees. That in itself paid for the trip out here for me. Lets face it aviation is expensive. If I could get a professional education without spending more than I need to I have gotten exactly what I was looking for.

Another thing that was priceless for me was the approach that this program takes. It is an accelerated program but it is not a "high stress" program. I needed that. I have a high stress job and really needed a good brake from that lifestyle. I really wanted to learn to be a professional instrument pilot but also fly with enjoyment. This program has provided that for me. It also helped me learn because I was not under a lot of stress.

Last but definitely not least I have been able to have a wonderful time of spiritual growth here. The "On His Wings" crew are very encouraging naturally and spiritually. I have been able to attend  a couple different men's bible study groups as well as attend church during my stay here. There are several Bible believing churches in the area. I have met several people through "On His Wings" that have been a great encouragement to me spiritually. All around it has been an excellent time for me. I have wondered if God might have had in mind for me to come here just for the spiritual encouragement. Maybe the instrument rating was just a bonus?

All in all I would definitely recommend anyone that is looking for a good, well rounded, professional, (as well as accelerated!) instrument rating program to look no further.

Sincerely,
John Langston

Steve Raddatz
Dear On His Wings Flight Academy,
I need to share my experience with you.  After my instrument check ride with you guys I filed IFR and flew home from your academy to Alabama.  I was able to log .9 of those hours as actual IFR.  Two days after that I filed IFR going from Alabama to Wisconsin, and as soon as I got into Tennesse at 10,000 feet, I was in the soup, and never got out of it.  I was coming up to Chicago, at which time my plane started a minor shake.  I then called Chicago Center and asked for 8,000 feet, because I thought my injection system might be getting ice in it (causing the vibration).  When I got down to 8,000 feet, the vibration had gotten worse, so I punched in nearest on my GPS and called Chicago Center.  I told them that I needed to land, and they immediately cleared me for the GPS approach to that airport.  I went down to the assigned altitude until established on the GPS approach and then followed the approach plate down to the decision altitude, which was 600 feet AGL.  I broke out at 700 feet and with the airport right in front of me, and running on only 3 cylinders (I later found out) landed safely on the runway.  I want to thank you for the excellent training which I'm sure saved my life.
Thanks,
Steve Raddatz
